The art on the side of the stadium walls has never worked and has been blank since the sometime between 0.97 and 0.98.

There is a flyer (attached above) which shows advertisement banners and other things on the walls, but no stadium view when playing.

0.97u3:

"Major video update to Taito F3 driver that amongst other things properly
implements zoom & column scroll according to how the hardware does it,
which not only fixes glitches in various games but allowed many hacks to be
removed also. Sprite & tilemap clipping is also implemented, as is
proper priority mixing and alpha-blending on the vram and pixel
layers. [Bryan McPhail]"

Haze added a workaround for this back in 2011 with r12073. Should this be set as resolved since the symptom doesn't show anymore or left open because it's probably not a 100% proper fix?

haze's 'workaround' was corroborated in pr#11311, and the problem with the crowd area lag appears to be an unrelated y scroll timing issue.
i think this should be marked resolved.

Marked resolved at your word.

It took a while to get the resolution info though, I think it's correct.
