Summary 02685: All Vector Games: Video artifacts
Description During gameplay, what can best be described as video artifacts (dots) accumulate at the top and bottom of the screen as play progresses (left and right for vertically oriented games, like Tempest)

This happens in both black & white, and color vector games, but does not seem to appear if external artwork (bezels) is enabled.

This could be limited to SDLMAME, or possibly my configuration, but I believe it bears looking into.
Steps To Reproduce Play any vector game, and watch the top/bottom of the display

I don't confirm the problem you have in the official mame. I'm fairly doubtful that your issue is of official.
Can you post screenshot(s) when you have the problem?
What version do you have the problem first?
Do you have the problem both in full screen and in a window?

And please remember the primary target for testing is not SDLMAME, but the official command line version built by the official build tools on Windows.
If the problem is SDLMAME or Mac specific, Testers is not a place to post it.

I'm inclined to agree.

It turns out that the artifacts don't show up in screenshots, nor does it appear in window mode (Only in full screen)

I have no way of confirming this problem using command line (DOS) MAME, and I apologize if I've wasted your time. However, now that I have confirmation that this particular problem appears to be limited to something in my configuration, I can let the matter go.

Please feel free to close this particular report, and that will be the end of it.

I played a few vector games (Tempest, Space Fury and Asteroids) and neither of them showed any screen oddness. I'm going to close this report - unable to duplicate.
