Summary 04060: All sets in taitogn.c: NVRAM written incorrectly - games never start.
Description Delete old .NV files. Start game. Press FAST FORWARD (Insert) key
to speed up NVRAM writing.

Additional Information Supposedly fixed by aaron for 0.139u4 but has regressed since - possibly for other reasons.

Confirmed with spuzbobl. There looks to be a endian issue with the output compared to 0.139u2 nvram contents.

Broken during the machine/intelfsh.c rewrite (I didn't check exactly which revision)
taitogn.c is one of the very few drivers that use 16bit flash

Still some games don't boot after flashing for example: Shanghai... , Soutenryu, Otenami Final.

No. This was another issue with a regression that happened during the development cycle. It honestly shouldn't have been in the readme file.

Yes, there are still games which do not function which is why this bug report is still open.

the 2nd breakage was a psx core change, not nvram
