Summary | 04408: harley: Some sound channels in the test mode are glitched up and are missing notes.
Description |
There's a "NO DAUGHTER BOARD DETECTED" error when the game boots. That might mean the MPEG board, and the game has a few MPEG sound channels in the sound ROM. And when I used this game on M1 and Nebula Jukebox, I came across the same crap. This game might need a redump with the daughter board for a new XML file for M1. The daughter board must have been something that was optional, but it affects the sound channels a bit. I was swapping "Virtua Striker 2 '99" ROMs and swapped them around on Nebula Jukebox, and I found out what the glitched up sound channels were. |

Steps To Reproduce | |||||
Additional Information | "Ski Champ", "The Ocean Hunter", and "Emergency Call Ambulance" all used daughterboards, too.

M1/Nebula Jukebox program output (.wav recording) is not MAME and therefore is not valid for either being a right or wrong comparison. The only audio evidence that is acceptable for documentation and comparative purposes is audio recording directly from the board itself. This game.. in fact this whole driver has the GAME_NO_SOUND flag, which produces a warning screen which states this very thing. As a practice, when a game has been labeled as such, it's pointless to accept any related bug reports for them unless original reference is given (in this case, direct from PCB output). The same is true for graphic bugs in which the game is labeled GAME_IMPERFECT_GRAPHICS - only original source screenshots or video captures (from PCB) are accepted. Also, model3.c has been largely broken in MAME for a couple years at least. We are not accepting bugs at this time for this driver. The version you are reporting with is purely NOT APPLICABLE as 0.120 is nearly 4 years old. I hate to say it, but unless you can come up with properly sourced material that can be used as a reference, this bug will be closed. |

As Tafoid says, M1 and Nebula can't be a source of a bug report for MAME. And this driver has a NO_SOUND flag. |
