they update the spritelist mid-frame (and exceed number of allowed objects IIRC) causing these glitches.

things like this happen quite often on the real hardware, like with all NeoGeo bugs it needs hardware validation that it never happens there before it can be accepted.

Per RULES and GUIDELINES, available from the Help pulldown menu at the top right of the page:

Game/driver/issue-specific notes

    * NeoGeo Graphic Glitches
      We have received a lot of graphical glitches in NeoGeo games such as garbage, flickering etc. and usually they are original bugs. So we will accept suchlike minor graphical issue of NeoGeo games only if you confirmed it with the original.

So, I'll give you some time today to find some proof. If not, this will be closed until such time as proof is found.

Tafoid, if you close it, then they can't post the proof. A better choice would be to mark it Acknowledged until it can be confirmed, perhaps put a possible flag on it.

As for the rules, they're clear that you shouldn't report these issues unless you already have the proof. Please refrain from doing so in the future unless you already have conclusive evidence from the real hardware.

This can be set BTANB.

Uploaded a video from Level 1 and 2 recorded from my MV2F.
When there is a lot going on on the screen a lot of flickering and disappearing gfx can be observed. (my arcade stick was bad while recording this so ...).

Further investigations should be done on the Forums. Only file a new report if you have the proof that MAME is not accurately emulating the real hardware, this is the policy for NeoGeo issues.

The NeoGeo was around for a long time and had all it's available power squeezed out of it and then some, so you'll see a lot of these little bugs which seem like they could be emulation issues, but are actually artifacts of the platform being pushed beyond its limits. There are a lot of these in the NeoGeo platform, and addressing them all with reports would cause immense clutter in the database. This is why NG bugs like these are considered accurately emulated unless proven otherwise.

That's why I ask Reyn for video of Pulstar. I need comparison mame with real hardware before I post another issue - slowdowns of both titles.

@haynor: Sorry, my Pulstar seems to be broken ...
Slowdowns, flickering and glitching can be observed in many games on this platform. The only real video emulation bug in MAME that i observed is the the one listed for Garou MOTW - Terry stage background issue.

Compared with other emus MAME is the closest to the real thing.
