| Summary | 04729: ncv1: [possible] First byte in gfx rom is wrong | ||||
| Description |
In "Namco Classic Collection Vol.1" is the first byte in the gfx1 rom (nc1cg0.10c) wrong. You can see this in the graphic, the number '0' has a red point on the right side (see animated gif). The byte is $04 instead of $00 like in the gfx1 rom (ncs1cg0.10e) of "Namco Classic Collection Vol.2". You can compare both roms from ncv1 and ncv2, the first bytes rom $1 - 2FFF are identical. I've heard from EEPROM-readers are doing it. If you set the byte to $00 the red point dissapear. |

While I can confirm the graphic issue with one of the "0" characters, I can't be sure the game wasn't produced that way until we get some actual PCB video and observation. |

I had a hard time finding good photos, and the ones I could find had credits inserted or were set to free play. And one ebay auction posted an emulator screenshot instead, that made me a bit frustrated :P Then I googled the JP title and found some good photos. |
