Make sure the BIOS is pointing to boot from hard disk first - no floppy or CD-ROM |

Problem still occurs if you set BIOS to C drive first or ONLY C drive. |

I haven't been able to boot a floppy disk or get a cdrom install to work, so creating a bootable hard disk on at586 is quite difficult. Taking a bootable disk from another system doesn't work, but that might actually be correct if the bios uses a different translation. If you have found a way to install an OS on at586 then please let me know how you did it. It's marked as not working, so unless it's a regression and you can give a cast iron svn revision of when it broke then don't expect it to get fixed quickly. |

So long as the drive is partitioned as CHS there is no translation and is bootable with different BIOS's. I found it is possible to boot AT586 from a dos boot cdrom to partition and format a CHD. I tested the CHD i created in AT586 under AT486 and it boots successfully. If you'd like here is the bootable ISO i created for testing. http://www.sendspace.com/file/0oxv5r |

AFAIK this is a regression but i've been unable to find out when it broke so far. |
