Summary | 05389: dont save the Master Volume's Slider Controls
Description |
In the Slider Controls i can change all the options and they are saved/created in the .cfg game file, except the Master Volume. This option remains in 0db. If the Master Volume is the only thing changed, after exit mame the .cfg game file is updated, but update without any change. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce | In the game, go to menu -> slider controls, change the master volume from 0db to any value, exit menu -> exit game -> enter the game again and check the master volume

I don't think it has ever saved or intended to be saved. It just an extension of the command-line argument: -volume -(value 0-15). EG: mame mappy -volume -10 |

I've never seen this value saved ever in my entire history of using MAME. I believe the master volume resetting to 0 is intended behavior. I'll mark as Direction Needed to get a final say from a developer. |

well, if the master volume is only defined in the command line then i will need to edit all the channels/speakers in the slider to get a normalized mame w/ frontend |

The MAME master volume isn't really intended to be used to set up your system (it's in pretty coarse steps, for one thing). You're supposed to use the combination of your OS's master volume and the volume control(s) on your amp/speakers or TV/monitor. |
