Summary 05570: xsleena: Massive slowdowns when a lot of graphics on screen
Description The game slows down dramatically when a lot of graphics are on screen. This is especially noticeable near the end of each level when the game sends many enemies your way just before you get to the boss. Game also slows down dramatically in the space levels before choosing a new planet to attack.

I played this game extensively as a kid and I don't recall the game slowing down so much that it almost becomes unplayable.
Steps To Reproduce Play game to end of level (or space levels) or wait for many enemies to attack.
Additional Information Has been discussed in http://mametesters.org/view.php?id=2742, but game was never this slow.

im not sure if the real pcb is much better, you can check the youtube video below of the actual arcade pcb to see a lot of slowdowns in this game, example: fast forward 11:30 minutes into the video below (mind you, is that a bootleg or original pcb he is using anyone?)

little 'cheat' if you want to play this game with less slowdowns:
enable cheats in mame ('cheats 1' in mame.ini), load xain sleena, go into mame config menu, go into the 'slider controls' submenu, then where it says 'overclock cpu' set those to 200%.. now play the game with much less slowdowns

Hmmm... you're absolutely right. If the PCB does this, then MAME emulates it correctly indeed. Perhaps as a kid I just ignored the slowdown because I was more involved in the game? Thank you for your tip though and thank you for the video!
