This report goes against what's stated in the Rules and Guidelines - http://mametesters.org/rules.html

Because for machine nes it states there are known problems with the system and video emulation isn't 100% Accurate

That being said, were you running with cheats enabled?
Can you provide a save state before the final boss?

Correct. The only instance of taking official bug reports in for this system for graphic related issues is if there is a clear, typically heavy regression noted from previous behavior. (I.E. - it had to have worked in a previous MESS version).

Sorry, folks. Completely forget (or perhaps more like subconscious ignored) the 'known graphical issues' flag.
For the record, I was not running with cheats enabled.
I will provide a save state - Just need to play through again.

An .inp file as well would be good if it could be done in one session, if possible.

I added a save state. It places you just outside Ligar's domain with extra health and the ability to utilize Attack and Assail. It may not be needed (the power up) as I maxed Rygar's "TONE" and "LAST" to 4095 - but it depends on the player. :)

Honestly, I couldn't get the corruption to trigger again. I tried replicating the exact timing as seen in the video I posted where I just powered up, hit one shot and killed Ligar - but still nothing. Graphics all remain in place with no obvious corruption after defeating Ligar.

The only other thing I can add is I play this game at least a couple and sometimes several times in a year, every year, for over 25 years. It is not only my favorite NES game, but my favorite 8-bit game of all time. I'm hoping the save state can isolate what triggers the end-game graphic corruptions as I've never seen any sort of similar corruptions on the real hardware or under Nestopia.

I have modified the report to reflect my current findings (Unable to reproduce) and will also further test, try reproducing it, and report back if I can isolate the condition (better).

OK...The trigger is the Attack and Assail. If still used/activated when Ligar is defeated the screen is normally suppose to return back to its "normal" state. However, if you are still in mid-use of the Attack and Assail (screen flashes), the screen update or return to a non-flash screen does not take place.

Updated the "Reproducibility" to "Sometimes" as it is dependent on the state/condition of 'Attack and Assail' when Ligar is defeated in determining if there are 'end-game' graphic corruptions.

I'm going to acknowledge this, since it's not new anymore, and there seems to be some discussion on it despite it being technically invalid.
