Summary | 06795: SF Rush the Rock - Alcatraz Edition CAGE sound system engine losing some sound (channels maybe)
Description | This is just a little report about the Atari /Midway CAGE Sound system that I had been testing with this game. A playable SF Rush the Rock Alcatraz Edition will be working on the next release of MAME. I noticed that the sound emulation is losing sound channels on the engine and/or possibly on other sound effects, unless you crash into something else/event happens to make sounds channels reset. Some other games use this sound hardware from that era. The engine sound appears to be multiple sounds mixed together.

There was a slight issue with the DCS system in one of my previous commits. Could you please verify the problem still exists in the current git version. |

It is my understanding that MT only accepts reports for official release versions of MAME. Anything in current GIT that isn't present in the official release is ineligible to be reported here and such reports might be best served posted as a GitHub Issue. I'll get confirmation from an Admin before making any changes to this report. |

Nice work Ted Green. I am on the DEV mailing list but I didn't know how to contact you directly. All I see are GIT commits and changes on the emails. I figured that if I posted it here that you might see it. I made a video clip of the bug. I turned the drone cars off. The bug is pretty easy to reproduce on the the Rock, Beginner or Advanced tracks., ram into side rails or do jumps and landings with the car. Use manual transmission. The bug happens at the 39 second mark and 2:49 seconds. I saw your message about the GIT fix I will try it thanks. correct me if I'm wrong doesn't SF Rush and Rock Alcatraz Edition use the CAGE Texas Instruments TMS32031 and not DCS ADSP-XXXX EDIT: This video is no longer available (2019-09-29) |

I am unable to produce this as of 9/26/2019. This issue was in a handful of Seattle and Vegas games as I noticed the bugged sound in gauntdl before it was fixed. I myself can't confirm when this issue got fixed. |
