|Tester||Brad O.||View Status||Public||Platform||MAME (Official Binary)|
|Assigned To||Lord Nightmare||Resolution||Fixed||OS||Windows 10 (64-bit)|
|Version||0.203||Fixed in Version||0.226||Build||64-bit|
|Summary||07136: mtrap and clones: Digital Audio Priority problem|
|Description||Some digital audio is missing because it is triggered while other digital audio is playing. The most obvious example of this is when you turn into a dog and capture multiple cats. The MEOW sound will only play as long as no other digital audio is playing. Referencing original Mouse Trap gameplay on youtube, this does not happen.... every time you capture a cat, you should hear the MEOW sound whether another audio is playing or not. Other digital audio may also be affected, but this is the most obvious way to reproduce.|
|Steps To Reproduce||Turn into dog.... capture a cat while another digital audio is playing. The eating cheese sound, the dog barking sound, and the cat meowing sound will all cause the MEOW to be silent.|
|Additional Information||I tested on Windows 64 bit and Raspberry Pi 3 with MAME 0.203 with the exact same results. I'm guessing it will do the same thing on any system.|
|Affected Sets / Systems||mtrap and clones|

In MAME the MEOW sounds are interrumpted when other sound has been played a second before. This is not correct.
Some pcb gameplay starting in 1:21:00
In the original board a sound can be interrumpted by other only if it is played at the same or very close time.
It seems the MEOW is ommitted here due to the LAUGH sound being played almost at the same time. Check 1:23:35 and 1:28:26 in the previous video.

|I own a Mouse Trap board. The original poster is correct about the meow sound not working all the time. I was aware of the sound board timing problem. I forgot which version of mame does this but when the game is doing a first power on boot in the emulator the sound emulation is cycling through all the CVSD speech for some reason until the boot up test is over.|
