Description |
The motor sound which is generated by the MCR sound board with GI AY-3-8910 chips disappears after the Peter Gunn theme is played by the Cheap Squeak Deluxe board. The car sound effects and, shot sounds, and enemy car sounds then get distorted/clipped. Now if you drive into the Weapons Van, the Cheap Squeak Deluxe board part of the driver seems to reset the volume mixer for a short time then the sound effects form the GI AY3-8910 board go bad again after. |

After playing the latest version of MAME (0.236), I have NOT noticed missing engine or clipping of sounds as described above. I DO only notice the messed up sound effects that are in the related bug report 05452 that I submitted over 7 years ago. I'm not sure how this is related except that they are both sound effects issues. Odd that in another 7 years that nobody has confirmed/agreed with me about the sound effects issues which mainly plague the helicopter and weapons sounds, but also affect the bumping sound when hitting other cars. It is all very weak compared to the authentic arcade sounds. |
