Summary 07646: galxwars, galxwars2, galxwarst, galxwarst2, starw, starw1: DIP switch documentation
Description A member of the ukvac website uploaded a photo of the info sheet from Universal’s Galaxy Wars cocktail cabinet. I have attached the image to this post in the event that it is removed from the source website.

http://www.ukvac.com/forum/universal-galaxy-wars-cocktail-a3-info-sheet_topic356418.html

It is a folded A3 size sheet that was probably stored inside the cabinet as a reference sheet for service technicians. I thought it might be useful to post it here to confirm the DIP switches for Galaxy Wars and its clones since they are incomplete in MAME. I am not aware of any manual scan for this game.

I noticed that the pcb photo in the mame extras pack shows a different design than the pcbs I have seen on the auction sites. I know this game was released by Universal & Taito, as well as bootlegs. Worthpoint has a bunch of decent photos of the Universal 7908A pcb if anybody wants them.

So MAME is missing the cabinet type dip, right? Or is it missing something else, too?

Yes, MAME is just missing the cabinet type. I posted the entire text to confirm that the settings already in MAME were correct, including the factory defaults.
