I modified ZiNc to test this set some time ago and it did the same thing as MAME (characters all over the place), but it did not crash or show a 'BSOD' at all. Just now I ran tekken3c (TET2 Ver.A) under the same modified ZiNc 1.1. Attract mode, Eddy/Hwoarang demo fight and Paul/Nina demo fight tested and all worked without showing the BSOD, closing normally when I hit Esc to quit. People on MAME Testers kept saying it's not protection or encryption related, but there has to be something happening here, it's in both Ver.A sets and definitely does look a lot like what's happening in Tekken Tag. It makes sense that Namco would put protection on this game following the success of Tekken 2, but it's strange that Tekken 3 Ver.B and later doesn't do this.

As of MAME 0.127u6 both tekken3b and tekken3c are still missing the GAME_NOT_WORKING flag.

you misread the report: there is no mention of any crash in MAME. also, the blue screen has nothing to do with a BSOD: the 2 games simply freeze showing a blue screen but the emulator does not crash in any way.

finally, imho, the fact that it works in ZiNC seems also to confirm that it's more related to some unemulated graphical feature than to some sort of protection
