| Summary |
|
||||
| Description |
When fading in to start gameplay after selecting a map, the fade animation slows to a crawl, and about halfway through completely freezes, rendering the game unplayable. MAME itself doesn't crash, but the prompt begins to spit out nothing but blank lines. |
||||
| Steps To Reproduce |
1. Boot up CD-i (Mono-I) with linkfoe, zeldgamu, or zeldgam inserted. 2. Select a place to go when told to do so. 3. The game should render itself unplayable, running incredibly slowly. |

| Additional Information | This issue appears to have started happening in 0.222, I tested in 0.221 and it works just fine. | ||||

I don't see this (emulation crashing MAME, returning to prompt) for either linkfoe, zeldagam when tested and behaves like it has and you mentioned becoming unplayable. I tried mamedev.org compiled 0.222 as well a a build from today's source in case it was a regression in current Git. |

This machine (and cdibios) per developer request has been DEMOTED to MACHINE_NOT_WORKING. The bug report will stay in the system to allow people to see it and since it is valid, will stay acknowledged as a regression. CD-I Zelda games have never been 100% playable to my knowledge and the machine will likely stay demoted until they can be played correctly without issues. |
