"The game works, you just need to wait out the initialization process which takes in the neighborhood of 7 minutes! Use INSERT to fast-forward the emulation for a while, if you get impatient."

While this text is in the mameinfo.dat file under information for this game and online on the FAQ:Games section of mamedev.org: https://wiki.mamedev.org/index.php/FAQ:Games I don't believe the source file says this. I'll add it myself or have someone add something similar to that people can see what to expect.

Closing.

The information was never added to the source, and the game runs so incredibly slowly that it is not a challenge and in no way could be considered working.

It takes over 30 seconds from one target vanishing before the next one shows up. Most of the time is spent waiting for something to happen.

If a game is started and left to complete by itself, it takes around 22 minutes.

Granted, the game was just a test thing, but it should have at least been a game rather than just sitting around.

Are we sure that the timings are correct?

No, timings are unknown.
I increased IRQ frequency, see: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commit/9e243e352f3be11d959b16a15a4eb6b73c4525e4

Thanks, it certainly runs faster now. I had tested it at 200Hz, which runs quite nicely.
