Summary 07957: rygar and clones: Pops/crackles occurs in game music bassline
Description I have noticed this crackling noise on Rygar and AFAIK, it has always been there so there isn't a regression version. When you insert coin and start game, you can hear pops/crackling noise on the intro and it can also be heard on the game music bassline. There doesn't seem to be many YouTube videos of the real arcade cabinet so I cannot confirm that is correct behavior or not.
Steps To Reproduce 1. Load Rygar (or clone)
2. Insert coin and start game
3. Listen to intro music and game music bassline

My untrained ears are not hearing any crackling in music or baseline.
Anyone else confirm?

During the game music bassline, you can hear a slight pop sound at every note being played. It's present on all of the youtube videos showing MAME running Rygar. It's always been there. disabling v-sync doesn't improve it either. Is the bassline sample based?

You can also hear crackling in the sound when you insert coin and it sounds like the insert coin noise is getting clipped somehow. It's always been like this on MAME AFAIK. Is this the same as a real Rygar PCB?

The popping is present as well in the pcb, maybe more integrated due to the filter or the noise in the recording... but it's there.

MAME works just like the orginal arcade. Closing.
