Summary	08217: rthunder: Last boss music theme not is played
Description	MAME emulation when player reach the last boss the music continue being the stage music. In home versions when the player reach the last boss the music is changed to boss music. NES version watch in 26:46 PS1 Namco Museum Encore is a game compilation and Rolling Thunder was reprogrammed, but have same gameplay and sound. watch in 22:40 MAME accessing service mode is possible play the last boss music theme (sound FM 8). Is possible that MAME is not emulating the last boss music.

No.19814 Tafoid Administrator Feb 20, 2022, 10:29	I know I cannot get to that level to test this, the internal level skip only brings me to the end of the first story (Area 5). Someone will need to make an .inp file or a proper save state just before the offending area (before boss) so that developers can check this to see. It is unusual, though, the final boss music doesn't play. I'll agree with that.

Namco removing last boss theme in rev3 ? Probably not. Other strange detail is oldest and rev1 remember an prototype pcb because lacks several details : - few enemies on screen at same time. - enemies are slow. - the same stage music for all stages. - alternate sound fx opening doors. - no ending (see the video capture). revision 2 and 3 look being release. Dip switch setting select start area only work for rev3 and if not is emulation problem in others sets probably rev3 is the the newest version. Probably has an problem in last boss music theme not playing in rev3.

I have posted an message for the video owner. Now wait for reply. In youtube link above comparing with MAME screenshot the last boss not have the same color.
No.20593 StHiryu Tester Oct 8, 2022, 01:20	Visited the youtube video from Fungi66 and the pcb owner replied in comments. He says it's a rev 3 pcb, so it seems to be a BTANB: "DeLuSioNaL's Arcade" It's Rev 3. And yes, I've repaired 2 so far using donor parts. There are a ton of Namco custom chips which can only be replaced by another PCB donor if the originals go bad.
