Summary | 08534: simpbowl: Button press does not release the bowling ball
Description | This is weird, when it comes time to start the bowling swing movement you are supposed to hit the ctrl button again when the swing hits the green part of the arc and the ball is launched. Mame is not registering the final ctrl tap and the ball doesn't release from the bowler and pulls homer along into the lane.
Steps To Reproduce |
Clear nvram and cfg and go through Konami nvram creation w/ F2 held down etc. Start game w/ 2 credits. Choose 1 player and Homer. Normal controls. Choose arc w/ ctrl. Position play w/ ctrl. Start swing w/ ctrl. Press ctrl when line gets into the green. Observe the ball doesn't release. You can also use alt key on the keyboard and the same problem happens. Using a USB gamepad same problem happens. |

Looks like this happens as far back as .240 which is the furthest .exe I have handy to try to bi-sect. |

You don't hit a button to throw the ball as you time the green "release" area, you need to "roll now" with the controller/mouse/spinner whatever your main position device it. Works fine here. Can you confirm? |

D'oh, how ridiculous. You're right of course. I didn't remember that from the last time I played it a decade ago. |
