|Summary||08597: a5200: Start game button doesn't start game|
|Description||Starting with MAME 0.253, I noticed that several Atari 5200 games can no longer be started with the start button (keyboard "1" or joystick button 1). I confirmed that MAME 0.252 works fine and doesn't have this issue.|
|Steps To Reproduce||
1) Run an Atari 5200 game such as Pitfall 2 using MAME 0.253. Example: "mame a5200 pitfall2".
2) After Atari logo, press keyboard button "1" or joystick button 1 to start game.
3) Game does not start as expected.
|Additional Information||As mentioned, Pitfall 2 runs fine doing the same steps listed above with MAME 0.252. This problem was first noticed in MAME 0.253.|

In my research. it seems it might be some general coding upkeep might have had an effect on inputs:
