Summary | 08865: famicom and clones: Famicom Vaus controller mixup
Description |
The device "Taito Arkanoid Vaus Controller (FC)" in MAME features one button and an extra port, which seems to be a mix of two different controllers: - The Vaus controller which came with Arkanoid 1, with one button and no ports. - The Vaus controller which came with Arkanoid 2, with an extra port for daisy-chaining controllers/accessories and what seems to be an extra button. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
- Go to the Tab menu -> Slot devices -> exp - Select "vaus". An extra subexp port will appear. - Press Reset System - Go to Input settings -> Input Assignments (This system). You'll see a single button being mapped, called "Paddle button". |
||||
Additional Information | MSX and NES versions featured no ports, one button and an adjustment screw next to the paddle.

There's also the possibility that the button is just decorative and that this is a BTANB, but in that case the device name could still be changed to "Taito Arkanoid II Vaus Controller (FC)" to be more accurate, since it has the extra port. |
