Summary | 08882: arescue, arescuej, arescueu: Game logo and helicopters flicker on title screen when there is supposed to be no flicker | ||||
Description |
On the game's title screen, the helicopters and game logo flicker when they appear, which does not happen on real hardware. A video on YouTube showing the Japanese version's arcade cabinet reveals that the game logo and helicopters on the title screen should not flicker. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
1. Load either version of Air Rescue (International (arescue), Japanese (arescuej), or US (arescueu)). 2. When you get to the title screen, you are able to see the helicopters and game logo flicker when they appear. |
||||
Additional Information |
The "Verified with Original" flag has been checked since I found that YouTube video to reference how the title screen appears on real hardware and its expected behavior. The included screenshot, taken by pressing F12, shows an intermediate frame of the flicker in the title screen where both the helicopters and game logo are invisible. |

I've confirmed it as the flicker is rather bad. However, the game has the warning "Imperfectly emulated features: graphics" at start, so this might be an invalid report. Over to the devs to decide. |

Well, I've checked through any past reports if they featured this issue, and it wasn't reported before. Also, I don't remember any indication of this in the source code, or there doesn't seem to be any source code notes for this either. I'm currently monitoring this to see if any new notes have been sent here from the dev team. |
