Changing this will just make it confusing. "A" is the logical “first button” and making it “Button 2” in MAME would be incredibly frustrating. |

Change the NES button mappings and see which order is confusing then, as an experiment. |

As the person who actually added slotted controller ports to the Japanese home computers and tested support for a representative set of controllers, I’m telling you it would have been a massive pain to have the buttons not appear in logical order for some of the controllers. Would you like me to remind you that the frustration of trying to deal with you is why I put off further work on the Game Boy PPU, etc.? Please find something productive to do. |
