Summary | 09173: Creating listxml and using in rom manager not list missing devices roms | ||||
Description |
Hello. Thanks for reading my topic. All good with you ? MAME creating an rom dat list for use in rom manager is an good feature. Works for roms and bios. When using the command below mame -listxml >X.xml is created an dat file for use in rom managers. After in rom manager ( clrmame ) select the path for roms and bios and will be scanned for errors. If an rom need others files for example bios the rom manager wil list which files are required. However if the rom file require an file having device rom the rom manager not will list it ... not is possible understand in MAME last versions if was added new device rom files for an game and the user only will see need device rom when trying start the game showing an error message listing the missing file. I not understand because happen that problem in dat files. If MAME dat is created pointing all required files for an game that problem not will happen and wil be listed in rom managers. Have an nice week. |

If you can't actually show that MAME is not correctly listing device references or ROMs for devices, we will assume that this is an issue with the ROM management program. |

I can't see how this is a problem for MAME. It's up to the rom manager program to make sense of the output and adapt accordingly. Leaving this open for any further comments. |

No actual evidence MAME is not producing correct output. Assume it's either an issue with the ROM manager, or an issue understanding how to use the ROM manager. |
