Isn't that just a recording of an old version of MAME?

I mean the 9 year old OST video :D
Can you tell that it's a PCB recording? OST on youtube aren't recommended as proof that there's a bug with the music.

I'd say it's more likely an emulator recording, MAME or M1 (M1 app uses MAME's sound emulation).
I assume it's the DSP which wasn't emulated yet, the song sounds much flatter on that recording than on current MAME. Not just the missing vibrato on the chords.

The Taito Sound Team sometimes arranged original PCB songs when compiling them into soundtracks, so this issue may be part of that process.
For example, in “Chase Bombers,” there are even songs with tempo changes and different melodies.
For reference, I've linked a gameplay video of the actual arcade cabinet, though the sound might be unclear for determining if vibrato is present.

Since the composer is active on Twitter(@karu_ah_yui), asking them directly might be an option.

Thanks for the arcade cab link, I did a search yesterday and only found emulator footage.
It has the vibrato effect...

The main reason OST's aren't recommended when referencing original hw, is because almost all the ones on youtube are emulator recordings (eg. .vgm player, or probably M1 in this case). And yes, even with official OST cd's it's not unheard of that the people mixing the soundtrack made changes.
