Summary 09355: ct486 [wndows98b]: Althought BIOS recognizes hard disk size correctly, the bootdisk formatter cannot allocate more than 255 MB of HD space.
Description Becase of it some large programs and games cannot be installed.
Steps To Reproduce
Additional Information This bug doesn't affect at586 machine, but ct486 perceives an HD images preformatted using at586 as a broken.

That bios, like all early pc bioses, has a 504MB limit in you use a chs geometry of 1024,16,63. It will only be able to access the first 1024 cyl and since you have 32 spt the accessible size will be 1024x16x32 which has 256MB.

Also, similar limitation affects pcipc too.

Althought I could confuse pcipc with at586.
