Summary 09382: invinco: Dipswitches don't do anything
Description Invinco dips allow for 3, 4, 5 or 6 lives.

However, no matter what is chosen, you only ever get 3 lives.
Steps To Reproduce >mame invinco

The number of lives shows at bottom left of screen. Go to DIP Switches menu, select some other number of lives, then Reset System. It still says 3.
Additional Information in invinco_io_r, changing (offset & 0x02) to (offset & 0x04) will fix the problem.

(makes it the same as sspaceat_io_r and headon2_io_r, which could all be merged).

Confirmed. But it was a pretty great Space Invaders clone, no questions asked.

On level 2 it shows a bug where if you kill all the invaders on the right, the rest of them won't go fully to the right, as if there was still a hidden invader out there. Makes it almost impossible to finish the level before you run out of lives. No idea if it's an emulation bug or a btanb. I won't log a report for this though.

Also, the game doesn't seem to have a bonus score.

Your comment about 2nd level: I don't think it's a bug, but a deliberate difficulty increase.

I tried once and could confirm the 2nd level is harder.
Then I tried again with the unknown dipswitches to OFF, and now the 2nd level wasn't hard, but the 3rd level was.
*edit*: or was it the Lives dsw, since I changed it from 3 to 5.
*edit2*: or maybe exceeding a certain score? ... I don't know anymore
