The game program has a process to detect the third button, and you need to press the third button when moving while hanging, but this is not necessary in the actual game. I suspect this is because the specifications were changed from 3 buttons to 2 buttons before release, and the wires were directly connected without using buttons. |

Ah I see, I'll re-add the button then for this game. Opinions are divided: IMO MAME should only emulate buttons that are on the control panel, rare exceptions aside. Others will say that if the game has any way to detect it, like here in Galivan, or the 3rd button in testmode in Ninja Emaki, MAME should emulate it. Or in extreme case, some will say MAME should have inputs on all ports that the hardware can access in theory (which would be a lot). |
