Summary 09400: aircomb, aircombj: A possible light for Air Combat?
Description Hi, i know that yeah, MAME is an emulator that was being developed by years since then, so is nice to see it turns out active even during those years. one of my brief suggestions if it brings up interest for the active developers, turns out about Air Combat for the Namco System 21. Air Combat 22 turns to be reasonably emulated aside of some graphical glitches, but AC22 is the least of concerns now that the same were officialy re-released by Hamster Corporation on the Arcade Archives lineup. however, Hamster seems to only covering games from System 22, Super System 22 and beyond of the 3D Namco ones, with very slight chances they could even cover about Air Combat from System 21. Air Combat itself works well on the gameplay aspect(in both the american and japanese releases) the things that aren't perfect turns out at the constant sprite bugs(i.e. HUD/UI overlapping with terrain model's backface culling) and some stutter/buffering at the models(i.e. the F-16C having dark vertex faces on the wings), along FPS lagging

A good example i could give about how a stable Air Combat would look like, is by the video from the Laserdisc footage made by Namco/Victor Entertainment

Additional references turns into this gameplays from the cabinet itself

Steps To Reproduce
Additional Information i think is kinda obvious, but depending if QoL turns into a possibility, i'd like to be applied to both the american and japanese releases, which i'd assume is a norm of region based games with MAME

Until being uncertain if at some point Hamster may look into re-releasing System 21 games like Starblade, i already recgonize that Air Combat's stability on MAME won't be a thing solved for a long time, as they tend to say that patience is a virtue, but i'd be willing if it turns out into a possibility

Hi, we don't need bug reports for games that are marked not working (you know, ones that show a big red warning before you launch it in MAME). The exception is severe regressions, eg. game worked much better in a previous release. Or if a non-working game locks up the MAME application or makes it crash, it's usually also worth a report.

Also, I suggest you open some of the other bug reports on this site to see what defines a bug report. To get an idea how to write one that won't sound like just a request to improve the emulation.
