Summary 09448: dsfdcta: Stops at error screen
Description This game is listed as working.

When started, an error screen appears, which cannot be passed.

Changing the dip to boot off CD instead of Flash makes no difference.
Steps To Reproduce >mame dsfdcta

Error screen attached below appears. I can't read the text but assume it's bad news.

According to Google Translate that screen says you need to press test (F2 by default in MAME to start installation). After you do that, other instructions follow, but one really needs to understand Japanese to get it going I fear.

I poked around and somehow got "something" happening, will keep investigating. So far, GN884 was copied from the CD into flash, and the flash passed testing. But still can't get in-game. I'll try translating some snaps for inspiration.

The CD has a choice of GC/GN884 or GC/GN895, either can be flashed over, but then you're expected to supply the relevant security cassette before the game can run. That can't be done in MAME, so it's a dead end.

There's a 3rd choice "I don't have it", but this just responds with "I'm sorry but I can't install it".

So unless the driver includes the cassettes that the user can choose, then this game is never going to work.

Confirmed it works correctly, it's just incredibly annoying to install.

Yes, thank you, it's now been documented.
