Summary 00948: batsugun: The ending and credits text is in gibberish language.
Description The ending and credits text is in gibberish language. Knowing this is the europe region, and all other text is in English, this should be English.

Update (MAME .60) : Although the ending text is not visible since 0.60, it is still gibberish, by looking at the layers with F4.

Update (MAME .67) : I got bored, and played and played and played through this, and found something. If you look at the layers during the endings, part of the dialogue is in tilemap0 and part is in tilemap1. Put together, they work fine (0 on the left, 1 on the right).

It is version 0.134u4 now, which doesn't seem to have this bug. Instead, the text only appears within the picture's boundary. At lease it is the case with the Special Ver. In the regular version, there is no text at all.

There was a problem with toaplan2.c sprites in a change before u4 which has been since fixed. Should be ok in 0.135. Please post a snap if this still continues after 0.135 is released.

I don't think the bug 03520 is a duplicate of this bug. Bug 03520 refers to the ending text completely disappear below the photo and all texts in credits scene, which is not the case based on the posted images in bug 00948. Bug 03520 should not be classified as closed, but this bug should.

it's the same underlying issue, even if it appears differently in different versions. Your report should / could have be added as an extension / update on this one, not a new issue.

I think these priority bugs will need real hardware testing.

The mixing between the two VDP outputs is far from clear and the various cases seem to conflict with each other if you attempt to do a 'clean' solution for priorities.
