| Description |
Original description: When I was going to play Name That Tune, I've noticed there was no bootup sound like how it happens in some MAME update, this gives the signal that there's no sound at all, I then tried other balsente games and the same problem happens and then I went through all of the balsente games just to check the bootup sounds and none of them play them, meaning that they all have no sound. Updated description: I've been having the Resampler in HQ with the latency of 0,0 ms, that way It can give me a higher quality audio for the most games.. however, getting to the balsente games, having the Resampler to what I've said before, this will break the sound for all balsente games. This didin't happened in the previous 0.288, having the Resampler to HQ with the latency of 0,0 ms worked fine for the balsente games (But not for what I'll mention soon) I would also like to say that this not only affected the balsente games, this happened to a few games as well having no audio at all, so far I got this from Pole Position I & II |
||||
| Steps To Reproduce |
1. Load any balsente game 2. Open the TAB menu and go to Audio Effects 3. In the Resampler, set the type to HQ and change the HQ latency to 0,0 ms 4. Sound breaks 4.5 Even if the HQ latency is set to 0,1, as long it's in there or higher, sound won't break |

..you know what? This is actually my fault but I'm going to explain this in some weird story: So when one of my friends shown me (unrelated) that Spanish bootleg of Pole Position II, they were having sound there, so I tried that too but.. I had no sound at all, I had no idea what was causing that... until I've checked something that I haven't saw in a while: The Audio Effects option At first, I didin't fully understanded how that works, only thing I knew so far is that setting the Type to HQ and the HQ Latency to 0,0 ms can give me better audio quality for the most part... but now checking back that option and doing some adjustments, including restarting the affected game to clean up the audio, after setting it back to the default type LoFi, NOW I got the sound working, after that, I figured I would do the same for the balsente games and... it fixed my issue.. ..turns out, it was ME with the Audio Effect type set to HQ with the latency of 0,0 ms I guess I'll have to do some tweaking for my report description because I've been doing my tests and I've spend proper time with that. |

I set the sound to HQ, and as soon as the latency reached 0.0 there was a loud pop and the sound ceased. |
