Summary 06974: cninja: Sound speeds up when fighting with the stage 4.2 boss
Description When you fight with the stage 4.2 boss (the lava stage), the boss theme speeds up when that boss makes the same move (transforms into a spike ball, but not the first time you meet him).

Not sure it's a bug, but due to the sounds problems in data east games (robocop, sly spy)...
Steps To Reproduce Fight versus that final boss and wait him to transform into a ball.
Additional Information Save state provided. All the videos from a original pcb I've found don't reach to that point. Tested in Final Burn alpha too, with the same result.

Found a guy with an original japanese PCB and asked him to record the fight for that boss. Incredibly, the original board has the same behaviour, so for me it's clearly a BTANB. Here's the link:

I've just tested the game. The speed-up ocurrs in the animation of the the dinosaur turning into a ball, not while he's rolling. The PCB shown above by StHiryu shows the same behaviour as in MAME. To show a few examples, it ocurrs in 3:02, 3:09, 3:35, 3:41, 3:48, 4:05 of the video.
It's a BTANB in my opinion.

FYI: Testing new sound changes I checked this one again knowing it's a BTANB.

When you hold down the attack button to make the strong attack, I have noticed that the music speeds upuntil our character is exhausted. It's the same effect that occurred in the false bug of the game, so it is very likely that both movements share the same routine that allows the music to speed up. Curious

This same thing happens in Robocop 2 but i think i remember watching a video being played from an original PCB and it still does the same music speed up if too many sounds are played at once, ecept that in the original PCB it doesn't go very fast compared to the emulator.
