confirmed with
> mame specpls3 -flop1 goldnaxe

The default loaded image (cassette) with goldnaxe seems to load to menu without any corruption.

The problem is with the disk images. All the cassettes work fine.

Found some hopefully useful info about the disk image from user "obo" at a ZX Spectrum Discord server:
"Golden Axe has some regular 8K sectors with the deleted data address mark. Could be either the 8K sector handling (data padding needed) or deleted data address mark mismatch again."
